This is just a small post to highlight a couple of birds that adorn our Lakes and Rivers here in the United Kingdom, f irst up is the Little grebe (also known as a dabchick but the word is not to be confused with this bird being a chick) they are excellent swimmers and divers, they never stay above the water for too long and as soon as they are disturbed they dive out of harms way only to reappear some distance away and then usually head towards the nearest vegetation to take cover, in these next two shots this Little grebe surfaced with its head covered in weeds which I thought looked really nice.
